Former Bee Gees singer Robin Gibb in coma after contracting pneumonia, and family members are reportedly keeping vigil at his bedside.
Gibb's wife, Dwina, and son Robin-John were photographed arriving this week to visit him at a London hospital.
Dwina has been at her husband's bedside since he was admitted to the hospital on Friday, according to the Daily Mail. His brother Barry, daughter Melissa and son Spencer have also reportedly been keeping vigil.
A family friend told The Sun, "Our prayers are with Robin. He has kept so positive and always believed he could beat this."
"If there is anyone you would put money on pulling through such a dire situation, it would be Robin because he is a fighter," the friend added. "But this is a battle he will struggle to win."
Gibb, 62, was hospitalized last year for stomach and colon problems. He has not specified the exact nature of his illness - widely reported to be cancer - but told the BBC he had a growth on his colon that was removed.
He said earlier this year that he was making a good recovery, but had intestinal surgery last month and was too ill to attend the London premiere of his classical "Titanic Requiem" last week.
