Why Is A T-Shirt Important to Wear, Guys?

 

The Tee Shirt, often referred to as the T-Shirt, is a necessity to be worn under your dress clothes in any and all occasions. Whether it be a white T shirt, black T shirt or any other color T shirt, it is imperative to be worn under your clothes for any and all occasions when meeting women is a potential objective. The T-Shirt will serve various important functions and assist in creating the most comfortable environment for you and the people around you. There are generally three main reasons to wear a T Shirt under your clothes when you go out that will be explained in detail below.

1. Sweat Buffer

The Tshirt serves as an important buffer between your clothes and any sweat or body oils that would be transferred to your dress clothes that evening. This point is particularly important for those that sweat more than others, however it comes into effect in most cases. A woman never wants to see a wet TShirt on a man. Therefore you must limit and / or eradicate sweat under your arms, on your back or on your chest when you are at a social event, nightclub and or bar. When drinking and dancing a man is much more likely to perspire even in the best ventilated bars, social events or clubs. Worn correctly, an under Tshirt will effectively capture the sweat and leave your dress clothes dry. Additionally, the dress clothes will be dry to the touch of the lucky girl that you meet or the friend who happens to run his hand across your back.

Many of you may think that the undershirt will make you hotter thus increasing your chances of sweating. Though a valid point, 100% cotton, light weight under tshirts are extremely lightweight and do not significantly increase the heat that your body retains, making the amount of additional heat and potential sweat negligible. Also, any additional heat or sweat is quickly abosorbed by the undershirt/T-shirt and never appears on the dress shirt therefore outweighing the addiitonal heat and potential sweat.

2. Keeps Clothes New

Many of us consistently reuse the same shirts because they are very stylish and trendy. Often these trendy, stylish shirts are costly therefore disabling us from purchasing these shirts in copious amounts. We need to keep these shirts as new and clean as possible and they will continue to pay dividends for many years to come. As stated above, the under / TShirt will absorb sweat and additionally will absorb body fluids and odors that will not permeate through to the dress clothes. This fact will keep the dress clothes preserved and in a newer state. In this state, it is not necessary to wash the dress clothes as often as if you had not worn the under / TShirt.

The body's sweat and natural oils and odors will be absorbed into a shirt that is 100% cotton and can be easily washed and reused after the wash. Meanwhile the dress shirt simply goes back in the hangar and can be used for the next weekend or weekend after. Generally speaking, you can now acceptably wear your dress shirt four times prior to washing or dry cleaning it. The statistics may vary as I have had several friends wear shirts over a dozen times prior to washing them. These shirts were trendy TShirts over their under TShirts. Therefore they did not have the neckline that often gets somewhat dirty on collared shirts.

3. Low Cost

The under / TShirt is a low cost option that extends the life of your dress clothes and serves a vital function in your style. Popular brands of under / Tee Shirts include Ralph Lauren Polo, Hanes, Tommy Hilfiger, Fruit of the Loom and Nicole Miller and surprisingly all of these options can be purchased at low cost retail outlets such as Marshalls, TJ Maxx, Target and Ross. For a three pack of the white T-Shirts at these locations the price is generally around $9.99. These brands can also be purchased at more expensive outlets including Macy's, Robinson's May, Bloomingdale's, Saks Fight Avenue and Neiman Marcus. At the aforementioned department stores, expect to pay upwards of $18.99 for the same three pack. Therefore, it always makes sense to make your purchase of the T-shirts at the discount retailers.

What Size TShirt To Purchase

Selecting the appropriate size undershirt / TShirt is a very important task because you do not want the TShirt to attract any attention however you want it to be fully functional and achieve its important purpose. Despite the size of the clothes you wear, your undershirt / TShirt should be a size that "fits" you. The TShirt is not baggy, nor constrictive, however fits your body correctly. In order to determine which size is right for you, start by using the recommendations on the back of the shirt packages. Different sizes S, M, L and XL will provide you with jacket sizes that the size was created to fit. When you find the package that matches your jacket size, pull the shirt out of the package in the store and try it on. Again, this shirt must fit. It must not be too tight to constrict your movement, however it must also not be too lose and thus be seen protruding out of your dress clothes. Continuously trying on the different sizes and brands is the most effective way to achieve the correct fit.

Positioning Your Undershirt / TShirt

The positioning of your undershirt / TShirt is crucial for your outfit's overall success. You have spent the time carefully selecting an undershirt size that fits you appropriately, now you must position it correctly under your dress clothes. Start by putting on the undershirt in front of the mirror. Next, place your dress shirt whether it be a T-shirt or collared shirt over the undershirt / TShirt.

Initially, if you placed a trendy "dress" TShirt, ie. Ed Hardy, Famous Stars and Stripes, Diesel, True Religion, etc. you will probably see the TShirt around the neck area and the under / TShirt will be bunched up around your shoulders. Use your hand to pull the shirt down from the base successfully pulling the neck area down so that it is hidden under the Dress TShirt. Next use your right hand to pull the shirt from under your right arm down so that it is not bunched up near your shoulder, however evenly distributed under your dress shirt. Repeat the same with the left arm under the right sleeve. While standing in front of the mirror carefully balance the undershirt / TShirt under your dress shirt so that it cannot be seen. Once you are satisfied, the top half of your outfit is ready to hit the town.

In Summary

It may take a few events and nights on the town to get fully used to an undershirt / TShirt under your dress clothes, however once you do, it will have a significant effect on the response from women and friends. The undershirt / T-Shirt is particularly effective if you sweat considerably however it is also a necessity if you rarely sweat in order to serve as a buffer between sweat, body oils and your dress shirt, to keep and preserve the quality of your clothes and as a low cost and effective outfit necessity.
