Several thousand Tibetans and Tibetan peace supporters attended the peaceful rally outside of the U.N. building in UN Plaza to hear actor and peace activist, Richard Gere speak.

Emerging Magazine covered the two hour peace rally as politicians, and other notables delivered messages of peace and support for the Tibetan cause.

The event featured Tibet cultural dances and a brief play.

Archbishop Desmond Tutu brought humor to his peace speech delivery, while seriously presenting the plight of the Tibetan people.

The Tibet Peace Torch Rally was held the evening of the Olympic Torch Run through the streets of San Francisco, California just outside of the U.N. building in U.N. Plaza.

The Archbishop brought smiles to the faces of several thousand attendees showing support for Tibet and Tibetans.
