Fashion's Night Out is on it's way into Tuscaloosa, Alabama for the first time. Hosted and Coordinated by Social Diary Daily magazine, the event has taken off with spread wings.
With less than one week to go, the preparations for the global Fashion's Night Out event is stirring in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. On Thursday, September 6 from 6 pm - 11 pm, the Midtown Village shopping center will be lit up with fashion, food and fun.
To kick off Tuscaloosa's Fashion's Night Out, Social Diary Daily magazine's CEO, Melissa Russell will release 100 black and white balloons in the air. This will be followed by a fashion show from White House Black Market and another fashion show from New York & Co. "We're so excited," said Kellie Davidson, the manager of White House Black Market in Midtown Village. "This first time experience will definitely prepare us for next year," she continued.
"I'm grateful to Midtown Village for allowing us the opportunity to step inside of their center and take over for this one night. While the event is an in and out, shop and go type of event, we have planned activities on the green that will allow interaction of customers. I'm so proud that we will be able to show that fashion plays a big part in this event, but it's not the only part being played. We are giving back to the community by holding a silent auction that will benefit four different area charities. Arts N Autism, Turning Point, The Paper Dolls, and United Saints. And the auction items are some of the best we've ever given away in the history of our magazine's presence. From an autographed guitar from Prince; to signed photographs from Madonna, Taylor Swift, The Jonas Brothers, and Justin Bieber; to sports memorabilia from Cornelius Bennett, Julio Jones, Yogi Bearer and Greg Maddux to name a few...It's awesome!" says CEO of Social Diary Daily, Melissa Russell. "Don't get me started about the $4500 valued New York Shopping Spree and the California Spa Package for two," she adds.
Fashion's Night Out is a global initiative that began in New York City in 2009. The event's purpose is to bring the fun back into shopping. Tuscaloosa, may not be known as the fashion capital, but they are definitely known for their fashion. Speaking of fashion, the hounds tooth managed to make it's way into the fashion event and will be available in dresses, skirts, shirts, pants, hats, purses and other accessories galore. Midtown Village a whole is so excited about hosting the event and the participating Merchants are happily on board.
Any advise for Fashion's Night Out? "All I can say is come prepared to enjoy yourself, shop and be entertained. The activities on the green and the in-store activities is going to be a fulfilling evening. The after party, the food, the official signature cocktail for our area are only a few reasons to be excited....Tuscaloosa knows fun, food, football and on September 6, we will add fashion to the list!" Russell says.
