- The custom contest for Scrambler specials by Ducati dealers
- Participating bikes were voted for on Instagram profile @customrumble
- The winner will be selected at World Ducati Week in July
Five custom bikes, one for each continent. All boast original beauty, the end result after months of meticulous, skilled and passionate work. Here are the specials that have earned a place in the final of “Custom Rumble”, the contest for the most beautiful Ducati Scrambler bikes customised by official Ducati dealers across the world.
Voted with ‘likes’ by users on Instagram profile @customrumble, dealers posted videos and photos of work in progress captured over the course of several months. The five finalists are ‘Iron lungs’, produced by Warsaw Liberty Moto (Poland) in collaboration with two “customisers”; ‘Ice Track Pro’, coming from Canadian creative workshop Bow Cycle North; ‘Scrambobber’ Made in Thailand by Ducati Vibhavadi; ‘ScramblArabia’ built by Wheels of Arabia from Bahrain, and ‘Scramblegale’ created by the Canberra Motorcycles Centre, dealer in the Australian capital.
All dealers taking part in the “Custom Rumble” contest started work on their specials last September, with online voting getting underway in late October and continuing until January. From 1 to 3 July, during “World Ducati Week”, the world’s largest gathering for motorcyclists and Ducatisti taking place at Misano Adriatico, the best-looking custom Scrambler will be selected from among the five finalists. A special jury of experts, composed of designers, motorcyclists and customisers, will decide on the winner.
The dealer finalists will attend WDW 2016 together with their magnificent “Custom Rumble” entries.
Ducati’s new Scrambler brand re-interprets the values of the Ducati Scrambler, the iconic two-wheeler developed in the 1970s in the USA, which quickly became a worldwide success. Anti-conformist, accessible and essential, the Ducati Scrambler is a perfect mix of tradition and modernity, a step towards the pure essence of motorcycling: two wheels, wide handlebars, a straightforward engine and endless fun. Four Scrambler models are available: the Icon, in yellow and red, plus three other versions, that offer a starting point to express one’s personality. The Full Throttle is for riders enthralled by the flat-track racing world who have a penchant for pushing things to the limit; the Classic is for devotees to details and a 1970s look who want the uncompromising riding pleasure and comfort of a modern-day bike; and the Urban Enduro is the perfect choice for outdoor enthusiasts who love the open-air life.
